Getting Set Up

Ready to get started? Jumping in on Crowdwatching is a breeze:

(1) Create a Crowdwatch Account (first time)

Crowdwatching is a social experience, so we need to get you set up with an account.

Once your email, password, name and profile photo are set, you'll need to confirm your email address before we can continue. Just click the button in the email we send when you set up your account, and that's it! (If you're having trouble finding it, the email will come from [email protected] and have the subject "Please confirm your email address".)

(2) Install the Google Chrome Extension (first time)

Click this button in a Google Chrome browser and the "add to Chrome" button towards the upper right (you might need to log in).

After the extension is installed, you'll be redirected to a page where you log in with the Crowdwatch account we just set up. (Unless you're already logged in)

(3) Join the Crowdwatch on your Computer (every time)

After you're set up with your account, you can join any crowdwatch you like! They're open events meant to be shared with anyone who wants to participate. Here is how that works:

A crowdwatch goes live 30 minutes before the scheduled movie start time. You'll recognize it because there is a red LIVE indicator that appears on the crowdwatch listing throughout the website. When a crowdwatch is live, it's ready for you to join whenever you are ready!

Get started by clicking the crowdwatch and opening up the crowdwatch event page. You'll see all kinds of date and time information, but most importantly there is a button you can click that says, JOIN CROWDWATCH. (This is only visible when a crowdwatch is live). Click that and you'll be redirected to the movie or show page on the hosting platform, with the lobby page open for the crowdwatch. You'll see who is there and a chat thread starting up.

(4) Join the Crowdwatch on your Phones (every time)

At this point, grab your phone and browse to the crowdwatch page with your phone. Open up the crowdwatch page and click the ENTER CHAT button. Log in with your Crowdwatch account and you'll be in the chat where you can talk (and when the show starts, emote) along with everyone else!

We recommend each person in the room do this. You only need one screen for you all to watch, but you'll each want to be joining in the fun chatting and sharing emojis.
